Rock Harpist & Alternative singer, Julia Mae Staley began her study of music at age 4. Julia made her debut at the age of 12 as a harp soloist in Germany, on tour with the YOBC. Her first recording was at the age of 10, and she has since appeared on various other media as a special guest. Julia Mae has played concerts in Europe and the US. Since graduating the Peabody Conservatory of Music, she has released several alternative singles, and hopes to continue creating and, eventually, producing her own songs in the years to come.
In her teaching, Julia stresses a foundation of good technique in a lighthearted environment, with a focus on preparing students to perform live. She does not teach classical style singing. Because of her own strong classical foundation, however, she is able to coach it for choral or college auditions, or if a student really wants to learn a piece.
Julia’s teaching specialties include:
*Broadway and rock-style singing (but not screamo,) for ages 13 and up. *Harp, piano and acting for ages 7 to adult. *Coaching in: songwriting, arranging, ear training, music theory and audition prep for all ages.
