Colin studied Cello at Philadelphia Biblical University, where he is pursuing a B. M. in Music Performance and a B.S. in Biblical Studies. He is the principal cellist of the PBU symphony orchestra, and a member of the traveling Laudate ensemble. From 2008 to 2011, Colin was the principal cellist of the Philadelphia Sinfonia, touring Argentina with Sinfonia in 2009.
While in high school, Colin participated multiple times in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District, Regional, and All-State Orchestras, where his highest honors were principal cellist in both District 11 and Region 6, and assistant principle cellist in All-States. These positions were high enough to advance him to the All-Eastern America Orchestra, where he earned the position of assistant principle cellist in 2009.
Colin’s primary instructors were James Cooper III, principal of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, and Cassia Harvey of Harvey String Teaching. He started cello in third grade, and began private lessons when he was 11. Colin teaches after the traditional string style, with a heavy influence on technique and musicality.
