Hi! My name is Alicia and I am a trained classical flautist. Under the direction of my own private teacher, Ms. Nicole Lambert, I have been studying classical flute for the past 13 years. During my time in the classical realm, I have been very privileged with the many opportunities that I have had as a young musician. When I was 12, I made my first debut appearance at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania performing as both a soloist and a member of the residing chamber orchestra. Four years later, I was invited to attend master classes at both the world renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and The Juilliard School in New York and have been a student of both ever since. Then, at the age of 19, I was awarded 1st place in an International Flute Competition, where I was then asked to perform and make my solo concert debut in the legendary Carnegie Hall. In addition to my own private teacher, I have studied under many great flautists such as Jeffery Khaner (principal flautist of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Jamie Baum (acclaimed jazz flautist), and Linda Chesis (current head of woodwinds and professor at The Manhattan School of Music).
Of all the accomplishments and opportunities that I have had over the years, teaching children has been one of my proudest and most rewarding. With a big smiles and brave hearts, I’ve seen my students become inspired to really embrace the new challenges of learning such demanding classical teachings. It is almost as if I am able to share the true passion and excitement that classical music has brought to my life with them, in addition to teaching them the fundamentals of technique and musicality. It has been a true pleasure and honor to be a teacher at R&M Music studios, and I look forward to meeting both you and your children as they become introduced to the wonderful gift, and world, that is music.
